In this course, students will receive training on safe work practices, equipment maintenance and industry standard procedures for the safe operation of specific equipment. A classroom component will include safe work practices, importance of maintenance and pre operational checks. The practical training will include 20 hours of time split between equipment operation and in-yard maintenance activities. Equipment operation will include one or more of the following pieces of equipment, crawler dozer, motor grader, front-end loader, track or rubber tired excavator.
