Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate calculations for swimming pool area and volume for pools of different designs and capacity;
2. Describe pool filtration process and components needed for effective filtration;
3. Perform pool testing for alkalinity, pH, calcium hardness, dissolved solids and temperature;
4. Describe how to adjust water balancing in pool facility;
5. Demonstrate understanding of sand and diatomaceous earth filtration systems;
6. Demonstrate understanding of pool chlorine testing;
7. Describe function of chemical feeders;
8. Demonstrate understanding of bacteriological testing;
9. Describe Langelier Saturation Index Conversion Factors
